The decision to provide Cultural Grant Assistance to the Lithuanian
Art Museum for the project “Improvement of the Audio-visual equipment of
the National Gallery of Art” was approved by the Japanese Government in
2005. The project in value 30 100 100 yen (800 000 Litas) is considered
to be of a great importance with respect to both maintenance and
development of national culture and its cultural heritage. Renovating
and extending the National Gallery of Art (NGA) to adapt the old
building with respect of needs of a modern exhibition venue and cultural
center, has been a strategic project of the Lithuanian Art Museum for
several years.
“The Cultural Grant Assistance which was provided by the Japanese
Government resulted in installment of the modern audio-visual equipment
that will open new technical and creative opportunities for conference
and educational initiatives, as well as cultural events planning and
significantly add in promoting national culture and maintaining cultural
dialog with the partner organizations worldwide” says R. Budrys , the
Director of Lithuanian Art Museum.
