Permanent exhibition "The Baltica design team architectural fittings"

Since 16 January 2019

Baltica architectural fittings, designed in Lithuania, have earned worldwide recognition for their noteworthy design and superior craftsmanship. The Baltica design team created original architectural hardware from 1997–2018. These made-to-order fittings were sand cast of the finest brass and bronze, which was imported from the United States. Specialty foundry sand was imported from Germany. Baltica master artisans used jewelry tools and custom made chasing tools to achieve an exquisite finish. The production of each bespoke Baltica fitting required many hours of precise craftsmanship and attention detail.  Baltica designs exemplify superior Lithuanian design talent and artisan craftsmanship skills. The Baltica brand promotes the freedom to create. The original designs, created by the Baltica design team, earned esteem from design professionals and clients worldwide. USA design patents were issued for twelve designs and European design patents were granted for two designs.

World renowned architects and interior designers chose Baltica fittings for their projects – custom residences, luxury hotels and churches. The bespoke architectural fittings, which were created by Baltica design team, reflect elements of historical architectural periods – Baroque, Classicism, Empire style, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Baltica luxury fittings have been featured in noteworthy design publications worldwide. Clients include Queen Noor of Jordan, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Keith Richards and Larry Ellison.

In Lithuania, one may view Baltica custom door pulls installed on doors of historical churches – including the Church of St. Nicholas, the Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, St. Francis of Assisi (Bernardine) Church, the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy and the mission of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Vilnius; also St. George the Martyr Church, in Kaunas and the Chapel on Birute’s Hill in Palanga.

In 2019 the founder of Baltica and lead designer, Asta Baškauskaitė, donated this exhibit and the Baltica design archives to the Lithuanian Art Museum. That same year the rights to continue production of Baltica designs were acquired by a company in the United States.
